The huge variation of calls that come though to Guardian Angel’s main telephone number, never cease to amaze us. Over the past few weeks we’ve had, to mention just a few:

• A cat abandoned in a carrier on someone’s door step. When challenged the abandoner threatened to kill the cat, if they (the person dumping the poor animal) was made to remove it from the doorstep. The cat, a beuatiful long-haired white 12 year old came into our care and has now been successfully adopted by a lovely older lady.
  
• Injured squirrel, referred to Wildlife Aid.
• Baby deer (fawn) in a Virginia Water garden, referred to Royal Parks warden.
• 2 elderly dachshunds found outside Osterley Park in the middle of the road, temporary accommodation found until owner could be traced.
• Aquarium with live fish and water (thankfully) abandoned by leaving tenants in a front garden. Collected by a GA volunteer.
• An indoor living cat, abandoned by owners outside in the garden after they vacated the property. Attempts being made to humainly trap the cat ongoing.
  

and so it goes on and on…..

Huge thanks to anyone who supports our unending work, however they do it!

A few weeks ago Guardian Angels Animal Support, got a call from a vet in our area to say, that a very poorly kitten 5/6 weeks had been brought into them, but the owners, who had recently purchased it on Gumtree(!) could not afford any treatment.

So, the kitten had been surrendered to the vets, and in turn they were asking if we (GA) could take the kitten on. Simon, as he became known, was indeed a very sick kitten and it was believed that he would not survive. However, Simon had other ideas, and despite suffering kidney damage and other health issues, and following several weeks of intensive veterinary treatment he did survive - it must be said though he pulled through largely due to the care of his foster mum Tracey and all the staff at Vets in Old Isleworth.

He has now been adopted and we wish him a long and happy life with his new family.

A couple of weeks ago, 25/26 June, we were at Pets at Home in Feltham to collect money, animal food and raise awareness of our work.
On the Saturday we raised £114.82 and Sunday £239.91, so a total of £354.73. We had a team of volunteers there throughout both days.

It was a wonderful effort by everyone and however you supported us that weekend - massive thanks.

Throughout 2022 Guardian Angels Animal Support are partnered with the Pets at Home Feltham store, so hopefully we may see you there sometime, but if you want to support us with animal food etc in the meantime there is a collection bin in the store for us.
